Report: A rapper beats a record on YouTube without obtaining credit

A few weeks ago, on July 10th, Indian-based rapper Badshah dropped his video for "Paagal" and apparently quickly made history with the highest number of YouTube views in the world. a day. This historical distinction has not been recognized by YouTube yet.

As reported by Bloomberg On Tuesday (July 30), the video apparently broke the K-Pop BTS group's record with 75 million views within 24 hours of its release. Although YouTube did not comment on Badshah's alleged exploit, the mechanisms that played a part in its realization are now the subject of further examination. India-based music industry executives speculated that Badshah used some kind of "server farm" to accomplish this feat, but in reality, it seems that the rapper actually used some the same tools that would have been used by other superstars.

The rapper and his team would have bought ads on Google and YouTube. So, if an advertisement for her video appeared in the viewers' videos and they watched for more than a few seconds, she would be considered a view. Most YouTube ads of this nature can only be ignored after a few seconds. So it's easy to see how it might help videos to overlap. Taylor Swift is one of the artists cited for using this tactic, and industry people apparently believe that it is a common tactic.

While many people are paying more and more attention to this new way of capturing YouTube views, people behind the platform are reevaluating their way of counting views.
