Report: Real Madrid wants a shock with the Manchester United flop

Real Madrid is about to spend its money this summer while it's looking to give some vitality to an aging team. Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappé have been closely badociated with their actions, but the advanced zones are not the only part of the terrain they will focus on.

The midfielder will also be a source of concern as Luka Modric is about to be 34 years later this year. There have been rumors that Raphael Varane may want to leave the club, and with Sergio Ramos, also in the years to come, it would leave a major hole in the center of the defense.

With this in mind, they have already established a list of potential targets. The Sun reports that Eric Bailly, of Manchester United, is one of the names on his pre-selection list. Zinedine Zidane is apparently a big fan of the player.

Real Madrid had already tried to sign Ivorian when he was leaving Villarreal, but had been beaten at his signing by United. Although it may have been an attractive proposition in the past, his stay in Manchester should be a source of concern for those of the Santiago Bernabeu.

Eric Bailly

While he has shown decent play flashes at Old Trafford, Bailly has been handicapped by poor form and an unequal injury record since joining the club in 2016. Jose Mourinho has begun to lose confidence in the player towards the end of his term, so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not seem to be his biggest fan.

He has slipped behind Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof over the past few weeks, which means his future at the club is very uncertain. What all this means for his prospects of moving to Real Madrid is unclear, but he seems not to be discouraged by his recent plunge.

United would be looking for about 30 million pounds for the player, but with only 15 months of contract to his contract, a contract at a reduced price could be negotiated.
