The National President of the Ghana Association of Moral Workers (MOWAG), Edward Mensah, has called on all families with funerals to postpone their funeral ceremonies following the group's ongoing strike.

Families who went to Kolebu University Hospital, Okomfo Anokye, and Koforidua's central mortuary for their deaths on Friday were turned away by men from the morgue.

According to the president of MOWAG, the badociation has been fighting with the government to increase their salaries and improve their conditions of service for several months without response.

Speaking on an Accra-based radio station, Citi FM, Mr. Mensah said the strike would continue until their demands were met. prepared … .. so they should be postponing the funeral …. ".

He therefore called on the injured families to talk to the government to respond to their requests to enable them to live in peace.

He said, however, that families who paid earlier before the strike are allowed to take their bodies.

In the Ashanti region, some bereaved families were asked to bring their bodies to private institutions instead of the Anokye Okomfo morgue.

Workers also asked bereaved families to suspend all payments.
