Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, a veteran journalist, is exasperated by the ceaseless demand for credits from previous administrations for projects carried out by the government.

Speaking during an information badysis program, Newsfile on Joy FM / MultiTV on Saturday, Baako called the intervention "small."

He said the government was a continuum and the new administrations were supposed to continue the projects they inherited. Therefore, the demand for total credits for such projects from their predecessors simply because they started is not tenable.

"You hear them say, 'you've been here a year or two, so where are your own projects; and that everyone you order is our baby … it's a bit petty, "said Baako.

The veteran who is the editor of the newspaper New Crusading Guide believes that the substance of projects should aim to build the nation. Paraphrasing Harold Lbadwell, he said that there should be no question of who gets a credit, when and how.

He added that despite its small size, the credit for anyone who has contributed to a project can be evaluated in the archives.

He cited parliamentary archives and publications as the source of all this information. When the borrowing bill arrived in the House and when it was approved, everything is on file, he said.

When Terminal 3 at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) was put into service in 2018, the opposition introduced it as a feat of former President John Mahama.

Proponents of both sides engaged in heated debates over social media to find out if the Akufo-Addo administration should take a share of the credit for overseeing its completion.

The same debates broke out earlier in the year when it was declared that Ho Airport – in the regional capital of Volta – was ready to be put into service.
