Accra, April 30, GNA – Professor Peter
Twumasi, chief executive of the National Sports Authority (NSA), said:
research is an essential tool for the development and promotion of sport in
the country.
Professor Twumasi, in an interview with the
GNA Sports stated that there was a huge reward for any modern organization that
based on a real, scientific and impartial badessment of the situations and
research through the search for appropriate policies to direct the affairs of
l & # 39; organization.
He said plans were well advanced for the NSA to
to make sports research a central point in their quest for supervision and
to maintain the sports infrastructure, as well as to train athletes capable of performing at
highest level.
"The result of research activities in various
sectors of our society and economy, including sport, would provide
solutions and measures in the form of recommendations to policy makers,
Government and stakeholders, "added Professor Twumasi.
"Since taking office at
Director General of the NSA, my administration has been involved in
badessment of sports in Ghana and we have been well informed by some findings,
which would be widely used to improve the sport in the country.
"The focus is now on neglected development
sports disciplines to ensure greater participation of citizens in
sports, with consequences for job creation, improving health in order to reduce
cost of health care, "he added.
Professor Twumasi, who has been appointed
Director General of the NSA in December 2018, has more than fifty (50) researchers
publications.
