PanARMENIAN.Net – Pennsylvania athletes team up with researchers at Louisiana State University, who say they have found a cure for chronic debilitating disease, reports WJAC.

The United Sportsmen of Pennsylvania said that a doctor from the LSU had identified an unknown bacterium until then causing the MDC, mainly in deer and elkwhich, according to the group, represents a devastating threat to all wildlife.

The USP is raising funds for researchers to develop on-site test kits for hunters to test their harvest for the disease.

Over the next three years, they also plan to release vaccines to help captive and wild deer populations.

USP is seeking to raise more than $ 250,000 to donate to LSU for test kits and vaccine development.

At the same time, officials from the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Department of Agriculture issued a statement about the disease on Monday.

They say that the ever-fatal brain disease has been detected in some areas of the Commonwealth with increasing regularity, threatening deer and deer hunting.

In the statement, officials say they want to point out that decades of research have provided ample evidence that prions, misfolded proteins, are the infectious agent of CWD.

They say that this hypothesis is accepted by the agriculture and wildlife protection agencies of the whole country.

According to officials, other theories about the disease have not been thoroughly researched.
