Ho, March 17, GNA – Kpando police have
arrested Maxwell Boateng, an electrician, for allegedly installing and selling
Power Distribution Services (PDS) measure customers at fault.

Boateng would have been hired by a
contractor to replace defective meters for PDS customers, but he diverted and sold
counters to unsuspecting customers.

Mr. Francis Opoku Manu, PDS Public Relations
Responsible for the Volta Region who informed the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said that
police collected information on March 12, 2019 about Boateng's activities and
stopped him.

He said the police had identified 16 meters
hijacked by Boateng and treated it for the yard.

The PRO has declared Ms. Phanney Adiko, the Vice President
District Chief of Kpando PDS Ghana Limited, police said regularly
door-to-door monitoring detected new PDS meters and after investigations
arrested Boateng for selling the meters to customers.

He told Mr. Delali Oklu, Regional Director General
Manager, PDS, congratulated the police for adding that efforts were being made to identify
and prosecute all those who engage in such acts.
