Result: Wilfried Zaha nominates Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations

Wilfried Zaha scored the only goal as Ivory Coast beat Mali to reach the Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals.

The Crystal Palace striker, who was at the center of speculation on the transfers, tried in the second half to provoke a clash with a very fantasy Algeria.

Mali dominated the first period but had nothing to show for their nine goal attempts, Sylvain Gbohouo saving two free-kicks from Moussa Marega and one from Abdoulaye Diaby.

But after Moussa Djenepo fell in front of goal after hanging on to Marega's superb deep pbad, the momentum completely swung.

Jonathan Kodjia scored a difficult goal from Ivory Coast, with Franck Kessie simply unable to divert him.

The Aston Villa striker then tried a long pbad over the defense, but despite the sliding of goalkeeper Djigui Diarra, Kodjia allowed him to recover and make a save.

Gbohouo had a capricious day in goal, but claimed the help of the winner in the 76th minute, Elephants. Kodjia missed his long free-kick, misleading the Malian defense, and Zaha finished calmly under pressure from Diarra.
