The retired archbishop of the Anglican Church in Uganda, Stanley Ntagali, has been suspended for allegedly having an affair with a married woman contrary to church rules.

According to a letter dated Wednesday, January 13, written by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Reverend Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, he accused the cloth man of eating the forbidden fruit with another man’s wife, affirms the clerk.

Ntagali suspended until further notice

He said Ntagali would not be allowed to perform duties such as preaching, offering sacraments or representing the Church of Uganda in any way until further notice.

He urged the more than 13 million church worshipers in this landlocked country to join in prayer and repent amid the allegations of cheating.

“Now is not the time for us to chat. It is the time of repentance; a time of prayer; a time to examine our own sin and failures in humility; and a time to make all of our relationships right before God, ”Kazimba said.

The Observer reported that Ntagali had served as the eighth archbishop of the Church of Uganda and returned to Kaziimba on March 1, 2020 after reaching retirement age.

The priest was Bishop of Kampala and had previously been Bishop of the Diocese of Masindi-Kitara from 2004 to 2012.

In a similar story, a married woman was found dead in the home of a Catholic priest in Zimbabwe.

The woman, known as the priest’s lover, was also a member of the Catholic Women’s League of the St Maurice Catholic Church.

Father Abel Mwelwa, accused of participating in the extra-marital affair, was suspended by the church and also forced to pay funeral costs as a result of the incident.
