Not since January 2013, the two strikers BVB managed to score in the same match, at the time when Jurgen Klopp was still doing the job.

Borussia Dortmund players Marco Reus and Mario Gotze met for the first time in more than six years, while the Bundesliga set a new personal best on Saturday.

Hannover became the last team to feel the wrath of Lucien Favre's heads in the dominant 5-1 win against Signal Iduna Park hosts.

Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring in the first half before Dortmund relaxed after the break, adding four more goals including three in just seven minutes.

Reus, Gotze, Raphael Guerreiro and Axel Witsel all found the net, while Hannover consoles late thanks to Marvin Bakalorz.

But it is the presence of both Reus and Gotze among the scorers who caught the attention this weekend.

On January 19, 2013, six years and seven days ago, the last time the two men took part in the same match

Reus also doubled former BVB striker, Robert Lewandowski, with his 75th Bundesliga goal, a mark that five other players have never surpbaded in the club's history.

Dortmund had also scored five points that day, beating Werder Bremen 5-0 under club favorite Jurgen Klopp.

Having struggled to follow Bayern in recent seasons since Klopp's exit in 2015, BVB is leading the Bundesliga in what turns out to be a record-breaking campaign.

With 48 points on its first 19 games in 2018-2019, the club set a historic record for this point of the season and, with 15 wins, it has already matched the number of victories won over the entire season 2017-18.

One of the distinguishing features of the Favre team was the division of goals in the team, the leading scorers Reus and Paco Alcacer (with 12 each) aided by their teammates.

In 2018-1919, Guerreiro became the 17th player in the world against Hannover, while Dortmund was hit at least 50 times at a pace of nearly three per game.
