The slate of Major League Soccer Week 4 may have been reduced due to the international pause, but it did not disappoint in terms of intriguing scenarios.
Sacha Kljestan and LAFC took revenge for different reasons on Saturday. First off, the Orlando City midfielder scored on the road against his former team. Then, the sophomore franchise avenged a playoff loss compared to a year ago.
Kljestan's performance for Orlando City came at the right time, helping the Lions clear a three-game series without a win to start the season.
The victory also reflected what the Lions had produced in their first four games, a year ago, when their initial victory was won by the Red Bulls, following a slow start to the game that had earned one point in three matches.
James O'Connor's team would like Saturday's win to spark a new round of six wins, but the long-term prospect of a full season is paramount and that's what the Lions hope to bring in 2019.
As for LAFC, Walker Zimmerman's winning goal in the 92nd minute took revenge against a Real Salt Lake team that eliminated the Black and Gold 2018 playoffs in the round of 16.
The emotion shown by Zimmerman and the teammates he rushed to the bench during his celebration showed how much victory meant to the club.
The winner of Zimmerman's stoppage time also added a new chapter to a nascent MLS rivalry that began with the 5-1 CLARET and Cobalt crushes by LAFC on March 10, 2018.
LAFC has a 3-0 advantage in regular season competitions against RSL, but Mike Petke's team still has the playoff victory ahead of Bob Bradley's men, which will surely be part of the debate when his next meeting on August 17 in Utah.

Let's hear that for the locals
The MLS record for most players trained in the same starting team was beaten twice in the space of a few hours on Saturday.
FC Dallas kicked off five games against Colorado in the first week of season 4 against Colorado, and Real Salt Lake sent six field players to the field on Saturday.
Edwin Cerrillo and Jesus Ferreira were the beginners of FC Dallas' basic training, while Thomas Roberts made his MLS debut.
Erik Holt and Tate Schmitt made their MLS debut in the RSL squad, while Justin Portillo (we'll be back later) and Luis Arriaga left the bench for their first appearances in the MLS.
FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake are among the best players in the league.
RSL has a fully functional United Soccer League team to prepare for prospects for years, while FC Dallas has joined an affiliated USL club for the start of the 2019 season.
With many franchises able to prepare prospects at the USL level, there will be less talent gap in the months and years to come as players move to the MLS stage.

Back in Portillo, who achieved the remarkable feat of winning a red card nine minutes after his debut in MLS.

Carlos Vela, MVP Favorite
Carlos Vela scored no goal or help for LAFC on Saturday, but he made six badists and played a role in the club's first strike.
With three goals, two badists and countless other outstanding games in four games, Vela must be the big favorite to win the title of most valuable player.
FC Cincinnati continues to impress
With some key players on an international mission, FC Cincinnati had the most impressive performance of the weekend, going to Gillette Stadium and beating the New England Revolution 2-0.
