A AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT is an intermediate / high video card designed to provide a high frame rate at a QuadHD resolution. It presents a series of new technologies of the Radeon range, such as Navi microarchitecture, 7-nanometer lithography, GDDR6 memories and RDNA, an architecture that will replace the GCN used since 2012 by the company.
The main objective of the company with the Navi was to improve the efficiency. Although Vega cards have proven to be high-powered cards and insufficient performance to compete with the most powerful GeForce, the Navi offers much more compact chips, with fewer compute units, but 50% more power per watt consumed.
Official site: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
The RX 5700 XT had to "recalculate the landing" with the launch of RTX Super cards made on Tuesday. Its price was reduced from $ 449 to $ 399, which was to be offset by the recent RTX 2060 Super, which has the same price announced. The price of $ 399 is identical to that of Vega 56 at launch and is well under $ 499.

We received two new generation cards, the Radeon RX 5700 XT being the most beautiful birthday edition. As a differential on the "normal" model, it has grooves from outside to outside in its length, but in the upper part a slight "wave" lowered is a very curious finish, placed only and exclusively through visual questions, a person found beautiful in our environment. The point takes at least a little that clbadic "square" and beat format that the company adopts in its reference plates, as in the normal 5700.
The cooling system continues the tradition, perhaps the greatest criticism of the design of the painting, visually, it is beaten and in practice, we know that it does not have the same efficiency as the current systems with more than one fan, handsome, but ordinary.
The time of evolution in the cooling system of these reference models, namely AMD ?!
In the photos below, the RX 5700 XT next to an RTX 2070 Black EVGA. We do not have here the NVIDIA reference chart and we do not think it makes sense to put it next to the Super model.
In fact, after the price drop announced by AMD in the last few hours, the ideal card to stay next to the RX 5700 XT would be the Super RTX 2060.
Even with the reduction, because the RTX 2070 has been on the market for some time, it has to fight inventory with the RX 5700 XT that should arrive with higher prices.
We use a high-end machine based on a motherboard Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Xtreme with processor Intel Core i9-9900K and 16 GB of memory via 2 modules of 8 GB in dual channel frequency and 3200 MHz. The idea is to avoid that the system limits the performance of the video cards tested.

GPU-Z
The GPU-Z still has not displayed all the information correctly. Let's update this section as soon as this happens. Below is the most recent version of the GPU-Z:
We have two overclocking issues with the Radeon RX 5700 XT. The first is the AMD model, which can be much better with a more efficient cooling system. I do not understand why it does not evolve in this respect, Vega of the first generation in terms of the best that AMD can offer on video cards. The second problem is drivers, who are still well below expectations. We received two versions, one open, Wattman, the other working, but with some instabilities. Software like Afterburner still has several incompatibility issues.
As I have already said, this is certainly not a draft table that should be considered for overclocking, perhaps in future projects developed by partners because only the models of reference with partner labels should appear at the beginning.
We also performed energy consumption tests with all boards compared. All tests were performed on the machine used in the badysis, which gives the exact notion of what each VGA consumes. It should be noted that the value is the total consumption of the machine and not just the video card. In this way, comparisons with tests from other sites can yield very different results.

OBS: When testing the 3DMark application, we consider 10W as the margin of error, due to the variation resulting from testing the same array.
Our test battery has started with a very important criterion: the temperature of the chip, both in standby mode and in continuous use.
It's important to note that some cards have a system that turns off the fans when the GPU is not required, such as performing simple Windows tasks or even simpler games. As a result, there are temperatures much higher than some models in this situation, but in practice, do not compromise the card. According to the manufacturers, this feature increases the useful life in addition to consuming less energy. Thus, there can be large differences in temperature at rest, which does not characterize a bad plate if the temperature is high.
Why did the board have a lower temperature when it was overclocked?
This is a normal situation on the current boards of directors. The rotation of the fan or fans (depending on the model) accelerates, resulting in a faster cooling of the graphics processor, sometimes with a lower temperature than normal.
Why does the board with a reference cooling system have a lower idle temperature than a board with a theoretically better cooling system?
Because current video cards with cooler models tend to stop fans when the temperature drops below 40, 45 or even 50 degrees, the trend is that the graphics processor does not drop the temperature plus the limit that closes the FAN.
Let's start by testing the cards with the system in sleep mode:

One of the most impressive changes, in light of AMD's recent past, is the issue of frequencies. In its default configuration, the card has even exceeded 2.0 GHz during our games, something unexpected in that it exceeds the current Boost specification, or 1905 MHz. Even at 77 ° C (the temperature at which our model stabilized the heating), it still remained at 1900 MHz, well above the 1755 MHz Boost Game Specification.
Finally, AMD has changed its game in terms of performance and consumption
But there was a promise of overclocking this model, thanks to the good power of the chip and software enhancements, which did not happen during our testing period. Wattman was released at the last minute and the use of Afterburner gave poor results to our tests because of the incompatibility of the features. Frequencies came out very well in stock, but tinkering with them was not viable and did not even make sense at the moment and on this chart, maybe in models of partners, should that happen.
The frequencies were above the boost of our gameplay
Speaking of beta drivers, a map problem (and one that is difficult to represent in reference tables) is instability. The model exhibited many variations in performance during the tests, leading to several additional attempts for each test and several procedures for cleaning the drivers or image recovery to try to locate the problem, which also posed small problems. questions about our mental health since in many situations the plate presented a different result.
The drivers are maturing and overclocking remains a mystery
The comparison becomes more obvious since we also had tests with the Super lately, which was not the case in GeForce, which proved to be more consistent. In this scenario, it should also be remembered that the Navi brings new technologies, while the GeForce Super is a "warmed" Turing, which already has almost a year of market, so it is possible that hell does not reproduce not the experience of the end consumer, equates that os drivers chegarem a um estágio but maduro. Curiosamente, no nosso gameplay as it is fluíram bem, como dá pra ver no vídeo.
Competitive test for the QuadHD na qualidade ultra
AMD is not apostando no Ray Tracing, caso você does not care
