Rey's parents' boat may be in the new teaser.

The subject of Rey's filiation has been a mystery since Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and even though Rey admitted "that they were nobody" during his touching conversation with Kylo Ren in The Last Jedi, there are still theories that his parents are important people, or at least that they are not filthy merchants dead in the grave of a poor, as the so well said the character of Adam Driver. As JJ Abrams returns to direct and co-write Episode IX, it is quite possible that he will return to the subject, and the trailer contains a vital detail to this effect.

The shot of a ship flying at night to a town is very similar to the TFA ship that belonged to Rey's parents. Viewing:

As you can see, the two engines emitting a blue light, a thin wing structure and a raised middle section are quite similar on both ships. Could it mean that we will meet Rey's parents in The Rise of Skywalker? Maybe, but even if it's their ship, we've already seen ships change ownership (like the Millennium Falcon), so there's no way of knowing who's inside. Abrams is famous for keeping secret the twists of his films. So it would be strange for him to include such a blatant clue in the first trailer, which may mean that it's a directional mistake.

In addition, it could just act from a wing and we read too much in this way. We saw a plane crash in another part of the trailer, after all.
