The former Barcelona actor, Rivaldo, advised Philippe Coutinho to revive his career in Spain and avoid a possible return to Liverpool.

The Brazilian international has not met its expectations after its record move of £ 142 million 18 months ago and its future is even less badured after the arrival of Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid.

Coutinho's agent, Kia Joorabchian, said last week that Barcelona had no intention of selling the playmaker and accused club leaders of informing the Catalan press of damaging leaks.

The 27-year-old, however, continues to be tied to the return to Anfield, but Rivaldo believes that such a move would put additional pressure on the former Inter star.

"We all know that Philippe Coutinho played his best football in Liverpool, and I always thought he could reproduce it in Barcelona, but things did not go that way," he said. told Betfair.

"The chances of a return to Liverpool could be of benefit to him, but I do not know if he plans to return to England.

"He could stay in Barcelona to try to raise his game and prove his worth, showing that he could get through that bump on the road.

"He's coming back from winning a title in Copa America and his confidence is great, so it's hard to tell if he'll stay where he's going."

I really appreciate his playing skills and think he has time to do his best at Camp Nou this season. Let's wait and see.

"If he decides to join Liverpool, they will become stronger, but they are champions of Europe and this will put him more pressure because it is difficult to win successively.

It would be a big challenge for the club and the player. Remember that they were finalists in the Champions League and winners of consecutive seasons after Coutinho's departure. Therefore, if he returns, he will face an additional burden to win trophies.
