While football fans look forward to Sunday's Super Bowl LIII, SpongeBob SquarePants fans and for good reason. Many believe that Maroon 5's performances at half-time will include an epic wink at the animated series, and there is now another clue suggesting that they may not be wrong.

Rodger Bumpbad, the main actor of the Squidward character, reportedly shared a series of Facebook posts announcing that Squidward would provide an introduction to the halftime show. However, CNET notes that, as Bumpbad's messages are not public, it is a bit difficult to confirm.

If this is true, it would be an unusual choice in itself, but this news does not come in a vacuum. There are a few other little things that seem to indicate that Bob the Sponge and his Bikini Bottom friends have a part to play at halftime. First, the fans asked to be honored by SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenbug at halftime. Hillenburg died in November and since then, more than a million signatures have begged Maroon 5 to play "Sweet Victory" during their halftime show.

The song stems from the episode of season 2 "Band Geeks" in which SpongeBob and his friends perform the song as half-time entertainment for the global version of the Super Bowl – the Bubble Bowl. The game site, Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, tweeted a SpongeBob GIF from every December episode, fueling speculation that a fire might actually occur. Earlier this month, Maroon 5 himself shared a short video presentation of the next event with the video containing a few seconds of a random clip of SpongeBob.

All these little things together excited the fans and even bet that "Sweet Victory" would become a reality – and odds of betting might be in their favor. An online betting pool places the odds that "Sweet Victory" is played at Super Bowl at "Yes" at minus 220 and at "No" at over-155. It looks like if it should happen, it would be a great win for fans and betting fans.

Fans will know for sure if we will have a SpongeBob "Sweet Victory" moment at the Super Bowl LIII Sunday on CBS and make sure to let us know if you think this will happen in the comments below.
