Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday granted a 23-month suspended prison sentence to settle his tax evasion case.
That happens after Ronaldo missed a penalty in the second half in his team's 3-0 win over Chievo at Serie A on Monday night. It was the 25th penalty of his career.
Ronaldo was found guilty of avoiding paying the image rights tax of more than £ 12 million during his stay at Real Madrid between 2011 and 2014.
Metro UK reports that Ronaldo has pleaded guilty to avoid any jail sentence and is expected to pay around 16.5 million pounds sterling to court.
Ronaldo arrived at the courthouse through the main entrance with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.
The Portuguese captain was denied special treatment by the judge, after asking to appear by video or to enter the building by car.
The 33-year-old acknowledged his guilt and left the court in minutes.
Ronaldo hopes to lead Juventus to victory in his fight against Lazio on Sunday.
