Players of Royal Jet FC, a second division team at Old Subri in Wassa East
The western region district was seriously injured as a result of an accident on the Huni Valley-Damang road.

The players returned to Old Subri on Thursday night after losing 2-0 to Tarkwa United in the Second Division at Akon Park in Tarkwa.

The accident occurred between a taxi and a Sprinter bus in which the players
accompanied by the technical team, there were about thirty of them traveling.

Most of them had broken arms and legs while others also had injuries to other parts of their bodies.

Seriously injured victims admitted to Tarkwa municipal hospital
while those with minor injuries receive treatment at the Huni Valley Health Center.

According to Sprinter bus driver Isaac Sam, one of the players
collapsed in the car on their way to Old Subri, so they returned to Huni Valley in order to take the player to the Huni Valley Health Center.

He explained that the taxi behind him had approached so he decided to let the taxi driver pass him but the taxi driver unfortunately hit the sprinter from behind pushing him out of the road.

The driver of the Sprinter said the car jumped several times before landing
in a valley.
