The Duchess of Susbad would be "nervous" from the prospect of having to abandon her birth expectations at the eleventh hour, which is a high possibility given her age. At age 37, Meghan is considered a "geriatric" patient and giving birth after age 35 for the first time increases her risk of difficult childbirth. Meghan and Harry, 34, have come to the conclusion that giving birth to the Lindo Wing would be too difficult for mom and baby, as media around the world camped outside the door of the house and wanted a more private place .
On Sunday, a source told the Sun: "Meghan is nervous about complications like an emergency Caesarean section and does not want to be under the pressure of having to look impeccable on the hospital steps a few hours later.
"Like any mother worried for the first time, she worries about the birth itself.
"As she is over 35, she is considered a somewhat older mother, which can sometimes lead to complications.
"Meghan also feels the stress of the world's attention on her – everyone wants to get a glimpse of the fist of the new royal addition."
The Susbad are about to move into their new home in Windsor every day as Meghan prepares to enter her last month of pregnancy.
The couple recently renovated Frogmore Cottage to suit the future family of three as well as 62-year-old Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, who is expected to move in.
And while Harry and his American wife decided not to travel 23 km to get to the Lindo Wing of Paddington's St Mary's Hospital, they may not have completely fled the royal tradition.
Sophie, Countess of Wesbad, gave birth to her two children at Surrey's Frimley Park Hospital, which may be listening to the couple's radar.
Choosing this option would mean that Harry and Meghan's journey home would be reduced to 16 miles and they would avoid traffic in London.
The source added: "She and Harry have decided that, rather than going to a place as public as the Lindo, they will allow Meghan to find a more private place."
They added that the Duchess wanted a "natural and natural birth," as well as the time and space needed to bond with her baby and not have to look good in front of the cameras.
Previously, Meghan had told a royal fan that she and Harry were expecting to welcome their firstborn "late April or early May".
