Rugby World Cup 2019: Wales calls Carre

Rhys Carre, the Cardiff Blues teammate, was not capped and was named in the expanded Wales squad who will prepare for the World Cup later this year in Japan.

Cross strikers Aaron Shingler, Taulupe Faletau and Josh Navidi are included in anticipation of their injuries after a long-term injury before the tournament.

Owen Lane, the wing of the uncapped Blues, is also one of 42 men.

Carré, 21, will join the Blues Saracens at the end of the season.

Warren Gatland, Wales coach, said: "We are really impressed by Rhys and Owen, both of whom have been on our succession plan for a while and it will be good to have them with us in camp and see what they are able to do. "

The flanker of the wasps, Thomas Young, involved in the Six Nations in 2019, is omitted, while his rival Scarlets, James Davies, is recalled after an injury.

Young is now injured, as is Ellis Jenkins, on the open side of the Blues club, and the two men could still get in shape and resume the fight to go to Japan.

Bradley Davies is back after a season disrupted by injuries.

Holders of the Grand Slam will have summer training camps in Switzerland and Turkey, as well as warm-up matches against England and Ireland.

Gatland added: "We have appointed a team of 42 players, full of experience, a good number of the winning Grand Slam team are there, as well as players who have returned from injury.

"The last few years have been spent creating depth and exposing the players and we did it well, so we limited the numbers to make the team as manageable as possible.

"We have created a great competition in the team and there are currently two players on the injured list that we could add to the team later, depending on their recovery."

Gatland will hold its last night of 31 men by the beginning of September.

The Welsh World Cup opens against Georgia in Tokyo on Monday, September 23.

They will then play Australia, Fiji and Uruguay in Pool D.

Summer preparations in Wales include training camps in Switzerland and Turkey, as well as four warm-up tests at home and in England against England and Ireland in August and September.

Gatland is expected to name his final team for the World Cup in the second week of the Irish game on Sept. 7.

Wales, the Grand Slam champion, begins their World Cup campaign in Japan against Georgia on 23 September, after which new clashes will be held against Australia, Fiji and the United States. Uruguay.
