Despite the imminent acquisition of 20th Century Fox by the Walt Disney Company, things are going well as the company prepares for its release. X-Men: Dark Phoenix. But what about the other film focused on the mutants in the pipeline, the often delayed The new mutants?
This film was originally scheduled to be released on April 13, 2018 before being postponed until February 22 of this year. It was postponed once again to August 2, although this date has been questioned according to recent rumor.
Scott Bechtel of Merc With Podcast said that Fox and director Josh Boone had difficulty accepting the final cut, and that The new mutants could be published on Hulu later in the fall.
I just heard a murmur through the vineyard. #newmutants will be delayed again. Fox & Boone have a hard time finding a finished and understandable product. They are looking to release it in early November. But…

As the Disney acquisition has not been finalized yet, Fox applies a "status quo" policy with its films, and The new mutants has not yet been officially rejected.
But while Disney is preparing to buy 20th Century Fox and other entertainment content from their parent company, many fans have speculated that these X-Men movies might be at risk because franchises would be under the control of Marvel Studios. But producer Simon Kinberg had previously confirmed to IGN that the release dates of the film were on track.
Kinberg talked about the ongoing rehearsals on The new mutants and confirmed that they were going to make the movie heavier in its horror influences.
"The audience really embraced the idea of a superhero movie or a comic film that was, basically, a horror movie," Kinberg said. .
Actress Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays Magik in the movie, has already spoken to Collider about new shots and expressed the same feeling.
"I think we're doing the film we decided to do, at first," Taylor-Joy said. "That's what we're going to offer people, it's like the movie we've all subscribed to, which is good."
The new mutants is currently scheduled for premiere in theaters on August 2nd.
