"Russian Doll" renewed for season 2 at Netflix – Variety

Netflix is ​​caught in the "Russian Doll" loop.

The streaming giant has renewed the critically acclaimed series for Season 2, which will feature eight episodes. The announcement was made at the CODE conference in Arizona on Tuesday. "Russian Doll" was co-created by Natasha Lyonne, Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland. Lyonne embodies a New York woman who is caught in an endless loop to attend her birthday party and dies and repeats the night again and again.

Season 1 also played with Greta Lee, Yul Vazquez, Elizabeth Ashley and Charlie Barnett. Chloë Sevigny, Dascha Polanco, Brendan Sexton III, Rebecca Henderson, Jeremy Bobb, Ritesh Rajan and Jocelyn Bioh participated in lead roles.

Lyonne, Poehler and Headland perform productions with Lyonne and Headland also serving as writers and directors. The series is produced by Universal Television, Poehler's Paper Kite, JAX Media and 3 Arts Entertainment. Jamie Babbit was also director of the series.

Season 1 of the "Russian doll" fell in February to reach universal success, with the series holding a critical approval rate of 96% for rotten tomatoes. In his criticism for VarietyCaroline Framke wrote: "Often, when it seems that the show fully integrates into his comedy, not to mention the particularly rigorous timing of Lyonne, he pbades without the slightest effort in pure drama.
