The Dutch actor Rutger Hauer, perhaps best known for having played the role of head of the replica in the clbadic science fiction "Blade Runner" alongside Harrison Ford, died in the Netherlands after a undeclared disease. He was 75 years old.
Hauer died on July 19th. His family has asked that this announcement not be announced before his services Wednesday, said his agent at the points of sale.
Hauer will be partially remembered for his roles in vampire works such as "Dracula 3D" (2012), the 2004 television series "Salem's Lot", the original movie "Buffy vs. the vampire" ( 1992) and the HBO series "True Blood" (2013-14).
He also had his turn as a corporate villain who knew Bruce Wayne's father in "Batman Begins" (2005).
But it was his role as murderer Roy Batty in "Blade Runner" that proved most memorable. In a famous Rick Deckard scene at Ford in the dark of science fiction in 1982, Batty spoke of "tears in the rain". It was an improvised replica that at the time irritated the screenwriter of the film, David Webb Peoples.
Peoples later acknowledged to The Hollywood Reporter that it was a "great contribution".
Hauer played on Dutch television in the 1960s and made his debut in a major American film as a terrorist alongside Sylvester Stallone in "Nighthawks".
Hauer, who also starred in the 1985 1985 hit "Ladyhawke" and "The Hitcher", was recently accustomed to the British comedy "Porters" (2017-19). IMDB has listed an unfinished work: the TV miniseries "A Christmas Carol".
Hauer left his wife, Ineke ten Cate; and a girl, actress Aysha Hauer, from a previous marriage, noted Variety.
Hollywood reminded the actor about social media.
