Ryan Giggs announced that Daniel James would be an exciting star for Manchester United and Wales.

Swansea winger James, 21, has completed a medical examination at Old Trafford before an impending move of £ 18 million.

He is now in Croatia with the rest of the Giggs team in Wales before qualifying for Euro 2020 on Saturday.

Giggs said, "If that happens, United becomes an exciting player who, I know, will be thrilled by Man United fans.

"It's fantastic for everyone, for Dan, for Manchester United and a good deal for Swansea City.

"I would say it's a pleasure, it's the biggest club in the world, so take advantage of the challenge.

"He could go because of what he has done in the past year, especially in the last six months.

"Be yourself, do not be anybody else, and everything will be fine.

The impending move from James to Old Trafford took place at a dramatic moment for the young man who tragically lost his father, Kevan, last month, at age 60.

Giggs admits he was considering not playing James for Wales after missing out of their training camp in Portugal, but he has since returned and should add to his two selections.

Giggs, who is also playing against Hungary in Budapest on Tuesday, added: "After the terrible news, we had to be flexible and everything was on the table.

"I've talked to him several times in the last 10 days, he did not come to Portugal, he met us to train in Wrexham.

"He went home Thursday but he's fine, he's in a good position. He badured me that he was ready to play but we will have to see how we go.

"It's a head boy, but I agree, a lot has happened in the last 10 days.

"But he has been good in the group, so we'll just have to see if he starts, but when it comes to football, he's well trained and I'm really happy."
