The last television attempt on a series inspired by Frankenstein has found its main actor: Ryan Phillippe (Shooter) will be the star of the CBS series driver, TVLine confirmed.
Now entitled Living, the project is described as a modern interpretation of the clbadic tale in a cop procedural context. Phillippe will play the detective for the San Francisco homicide, Mark Escher, who was brought back to life after being killed in the line of duty. While Mark and his wife realize that he is no longer the same person he was before, they focus on the strange man behind his resurrection: Dr. Victor Frankenstein.
Arrow Katrina Law, former police student, will portray Elizabeth Lavenza, Mark's wife, a medical examiner / medical examiner who is stunned by the return of her husband. Although she is happy to find him, she knows that her resurrection and her new personality have a secret: she thinks she knows exactly who is responsible.
Meanwhile, Mad Men Dr. Aaron Staton, co-starring, will play Dr. Frankenstein, brilliant, a little strange and possibly obsessed, who is on the run from an ethics committee in China. Oh, and it's also the ex-Elizabeth!
The potential series comes from the writer Jason Tracey (Elemental, Burn Notification), with Elementary showrunner Rob Doherty as executive producer.
