I may have watched one of the greatest performances in Ryder Cup history by an American team. I am a golf fan, I love golf, and it was simply a sublime performance from start to finish.
Let’s just celebrate what an amazing American team that played brilliantly, on a beautiful course and in front of an incredible atmosphere. Revel in and enjoy the quality of the American team.
They may be the best-prepared American team of all time. In their current form they entered the event so much better than the Europeans and everyone for Steve Stricker’s team stepped up.

Scottie Scheffler was the only one who didn’t win on the PGA Tour, but everyone knows what a class forward he goes on a course like Whistling Straits and hasn’t disappointed in any way.
The big difference for me was the trip they made to Whistling Straits two weeks ago, Koepka only missing injuries. The team was cohesive and cohesive, which had never happened in the past.

We have some great European players, but many seemed to have peaked much earlier in the season and were adrift a bit. In contrast, the Americans did not have a player outside of the top 21 in the world rankings and had eight. of the world top 10 in their team.
I’m not going to criticize Padraig Harrington in any way, although some people may do so after such a heavy loss. It was a golf juggernaut coming down the freeway and you weren’t going to stop it.

It might just be a Ryder Cup monster that you have so many players in such great shape. The whole environment was a bunch of superstars cohesive for the first time, the perfect storm if you will. Some of the golf was just exceptional and no one can live with that level.
You can change the world and revolutionize the Ryder Cup selection and the way we do it, but that’s not what we say when we win. We’ve had a fantastic run the last few years and you still have to accept that the home advantage is huge, with seven of the last eight the home team have won.

We don’t need to change everything. The only thing we could change is the qualifying schedule as it only ended at the BMW PGA Championship a few weeks early and the players could maybe do with a little more time.
I understand Harrington was very analytical and very statistic, but Paul McGinley was the same when he was captain in 2014 and we didn’t criticize him. Ultimately, players have to show up to play, but I think it was one of the most difficult gigs a Ryder Cup team has faced.

I am not worried about the result. I know the European team is going to sting and many will be upset that they didn’t play, but they were still part of the incredible spectacle that is the Ryder Cup. This show will be incredible again at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in 2023.
Let’s not panic about the depth and talent of the European Tour. We have the Hojgaard twins who have won in consecutive weeks, we have Migliozzi who finishes fourth at the US Open and I could go on and on about the young stars coming up.
Even though it’s the end for some of the older guards like Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter, there is a lot of young talent around the European Tour and a strong young core already established in our future Ryder Cup.
