A measles alert was issued in South Australia after a 22-year-old woman with infectious disease visited a series of locations, including a popular beachfront gym.
SA Health stated that people who have frequented one of the following places should look for any sign or symptom.
Dr. Ann Koehler, Acting Director of the Communicable Disease Control Division of SA Health, said measles complications can be severe.
Goodlife Gym Glenelg – April 15th, between 6am and 7.30am
Bowls Bomdia – April 15th, between 8am and 5pm.
Day and Night Surgery at Plympton Park – 17 April between 11:15 and 12:30
Blair Athol Medical Clinic and Pharmacy – April 23, between 10:00 and 10:30.
"Symptoms begin with fever, coughing, runny nose and sore eyes, followed by a rash that forms on the head and then extends to the head, then s'. extends over the whole body, "she said.
"In this case, the patient was not hospitalized and recovered at home.
"If you suspect measles, it is very important that people call their doctor before visiting and explain why they are presenting. Precautions can therefore be taken to avoid transmitting the disease to others.
