Salaga Nuclear Power Plant Office Youth burned the office of the new patriotic party in the constituency

The supreme leader of Salaga, Kpembewura Bangbage IV, has apologized without reservation to the President, Nana Addo Akufo-Addo Dankwa, Yagbonwura and all of Gonjaland for action led by youth of the Salaga South constituency on Tuesday.

The youth burned down the New Patriotic Party (NPP) office and some of the president's billboards after choosing Damongo as the capital of the new Savannah region.

Seven of the youth have since been arrested and sent to Accra for prosecution.

In a statement released on Thursday, Kpembewura hailed President Nana Akufo-Addo for creating the Savannah region.

He claims that this has been a dream of previous leaders in Gonjaland for more than four decades.

"We wish to badure the President that we accept his decision to appoint Damongo, the seat of King Gonja, Yagbonwura, as regional capital of the savanna region."

He described the youth action as being "undisciplined" and strongly condemned it.

"We want to call on security agencies to conduct thorough investigations and bring the guilty to the pound."
