Accra, April 3, GNA –
Accra court granted Salifu Maase a.k.a Mugabe, a radio presenter
deposit of 50 000 GH ¢ with three bonds.

The accused was
accused of offensive conduct to undermine public order and publication of false
information that could cause fear and panic.

Mr. Godwin Tamakloe,
Maase's lawyer stated that his client was ready to stand trial.

He said the charges
against his client were offenses.

He said the accused
to have people of substance to stand surety for him and so prayed the court
for deposit.

Deputy Superintendent
police, George Amegah told the court that the prosecution was not opposed to the
application for bail, but pleaded with the court to ensure that the conditions of bail
would require the accused to appear in court for a speedy trial.

The court chaired
Eva Bannerman Williams then granted the guarantee to Mugabe after listening
on both sides.

The case has been
adjourned to May 2 for the opening of the trial.
