Samia Yaba Nkrumah, former National President and Leader of the Convention People's Party (CPP), said she was certain to fight over the seat of the Jomoro Parliament in 2020.

She was a member of the Jomoro Parliament from January 2009 to January 2013 and lost a bid for re-election in 2012 to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She attempted to run the PPC in the 2016 election as a presidential candidate, but was defeated by Ivor Greenstreet.
