Karpowership Ghana Communication Specialist Sandra Amarquaye was honored at the Women in Mining and Energy Awards.
She was awarded the title of Champion of Sustainability and External Relations for the way she has managed the business of the company over the past year.
The awards ceremony held at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra recognized the outstanding achievements, contributions and added value of women in the mining and energy sectors.
He also celebrated the role and achievements of women who have made important contributions to both sectors. The awards ceremony also aimed to raise awareness of the importance and necessity of including women in these industries.
Ms. Amarquaye is a trained communications professional who has worked with TV3 and Multimedia Group Limited in the past.
As one of the employees who started with the company in Ghana, Sandra Amarquaye implemented and established policies, strategies and action plans for the activities of the communication unit of the company. in order to drive the vision of the company.
Sandra has continued over the past five years to undertake and successfully implement relevant CSR, media, stakeholder and community actions and strategies that have helped ensure that the image and relationships of the company remained perfect.
In recognition of her initiative for action, innovative thinking and fresh ideas that she introduced which greatly contributed to the success of the company during the period, she was awarded the Karpowership Ace of Initiative in 2018.
She was also nominated as an Emerging Star in 2019 at the Ghana Energy Awards.
Under his leadership as a communications specialist, Karpower has implemented a number of corporate social responsibility initiatives to support communities.
Initiatives include Karpowership Back to School, Karpowership Scholarship, Karpowership Mentorship Program which connects students with accomplished industry figures to help prepare students.
More than 400 students have benefited to date from the initiative which is deployed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
The company also recently launched the Girl Power Initiative, which aims to provide girls with practical work skills that can help them earn additional income.
As part of this initiative, more than 30 women have been trained to make fashion accessories.
