Outgoing Senate Speaker Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki congratulated former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on his recent appointment as AU High Representative for the Horn of Africa.
Saraki, in a statement released by his media office, said Obasanjo’s appointment was a testament to his “deep experience and extensive network across the continent and the world.”
He noted that Obasanjo’s appointment would make Nigeria proud.
Part of the statement read: “I congratulate HE President Olusegun Obasanjo on his appointment as the African Union (AU) High Representative for the Horn of Africa.
“As the AU continues to work to promote peace and stability within and among its Member States, President Obasanjo’s deep experience and his vast network across the continent and the world will undoubtedly help to achieve these goals. “
Saraki wished Obasanjo success as he begins his strategic mission on behalf of the continent.
