STOCKHOLM, April 27 (Reuters) – SAS has announced that it was canceling hundreds of flights scheduled for Sunday, as a strike by the Scandinavian airline's pilots entered its second day of Saturday.
"We deeply regret that our customers are affected by the current pilot strike which has resulted in delays and canceled flights," SAS said in a statement.
"As a result of the strike, approximately 64,000 pbadengers will be affected by 587 canceled flights in Scandinavia."
SAS pilots went on strike on Friday as pay talks broke down, blocking nearly 70 percent of the company's flights and weighing in on the travel plans of some 170,000 pbadengers on the weekend alone. (Report by Niklas Pollard, edited by Alexander Smith)
