Saul considering Atletico Madrid transfer as Man Utd

Atletico Madrid against a battle to keep hold of Saul Niguez this summer with Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona all keen on the midfielder.

Mirror Sport previously revealed the Atletico midfielder had emerged as City boss Pep Guardiola's No.1

Atletico have slapped a £ 130m buyout clause on Saul, who has been identified as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho at the Etihad.

The 24-year-old signed a new long-term contract with the Spaniards two years ago that will keep him at the club until June 2026.

But that has not stopped speculation linking with a move elsewhere, and Spanish daily has reported that it is considering his future.

It is claimed that while they are expected to keep hold of their badet, Saul is open to a fresh start.

Barcelona has long admired the player, while United has recently entered the race with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyeing midfield reinforcements.

Saif has been forced to play in an unfamiliar left-back role with Diego Simeone suffering a defensive injury crisis.

The International Spain is also among the players reported by Antoine Griezmann and the rest of the squad.
