Savelugu hospital in the northern region was closed for two weeks, effective Monday, February 22, following an increase in COVID-19 cases among facility staff and residents of the municipality. .

About 60 health workers at the hospital have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

A statement released by the facility’s Public Relations Unit said “the hospital will only provide emergency services.”

“This decision is necessary to reduce the interaction between staff and the client and pave the way for disinfection of the entire hospital in order to break the chain of transmission,” he added.
About 60 health workers at the hospital have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

The statement urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with staff and management as they strive to provide them with quality health services and ensure safety.
