The Ghana Electricity Company (ECG) has announced that it will begin maintenance work on its grid lines in parts of the Greater Accra region today, April 6.

According to a notice issued by the electricity distribution company, the exercise aims to improve its service delivery following some intermittent blackouts in the country.

The scheduled maintenance exercise is scheduled to begin from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the same day.

“The areas that will be affected are Tabora, the racetrack, Bankyease, the yellow house. Ofankor Seven Great, Kissehman, Ashalley Botwe, Little Roses and Achimota Golf Park, ”said ECG.

Meanwhile, Ghana Grid Company Limited has previously said that parts of Accra and Winneba will experience power outages due to technical issues on transmission lines and grid substations.

GRIDCo Director General Jonathan Amoako-Baah told reporters on Thursday April 1, 2021 that expansion works should be undertaken to modernize some faulty transmission lines.
