Scott Parker came with a strong XI and he refuses to apologize to Jose Mourinho for doing so.
In typical Jose Mourinho style, the Spurs manager tried to play a mind game ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Fulham by revealing he expected an apology from Scott Parker if he fielded a strong team at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ahead of the match, Parker called the short-notice postponement of the match – which had to be postponed from its original December 30 date due to a Covid-19 outbreak in Fulham – “outrageous” but Mourinho still expected to run into a strong, well-prepared side.
😠| “This is outrageous, to be honest with you.”

The loots were split when a header from Ivan Cavaleiro nullified a Harry Kane goal in the first half and Parker confirmed after the game that he had no plans to apologize to his former one coach.
“I don’t owe anyone an apology, this football club doesn’t owe anyone an apology,” Parker said.
“You can talk from the outside and people can see what they want to see and figure out exactly what the script is, but that was far from it. There were two players on this pitch who had only trained for one day, they had come back from Covid-19 and played this game. I had players on the pitch who only had three or four days of training. The problem for me with this setup was not that I only had two days to prepare for it. I understand that.
“The problem was 16 days ago, this game was scheduled, but since then we have had 10 positive cases, including a few staff, and then on Monday morning we were told we had to play this game. It was my problem. People understood the difficult situation we found ourselves in – we did not invent it. We have been very open, also regarding the safety of others.
“This team came with a goal and two days of hard work. In the end, we leave with a satisfactory result.
Rather than focusing on pre-match commentary, Mourinho used his post-match interview to criticize his players for not killing the match.

Mourinho took the opportunity to imply that he had extensive knowledge of Parker’s plans and explained that “it is very difficult to keep secrets” in football these days.
Mourinho told Sky Sports: “Look, I really believe, I have to believe and I know the upper hierarchy of Fulham Football Club and we are dealing with honest people and of course they had problems. Of course, the reason we didn’t play the game when we should, there were reasons for that. Let’s say it’s very, very, very clear.
“The reason they weren’t happy playing today is different, the questions you need to ask Scott, not me. But in the world of football, it is very difficult to keep secrets.
“Someone talks about it to someone who talks about it to someone who tells someone and it happens to someone else. And of course we had known for a few days that they were ready and had the players coming.
“Mitrovic is not a Covid situation, [he] had a small injury from the last game. We knew so this is something you need to ask Scott. But make it very, very clear. Of course they had some issues and of course there was a reason for them not to play the game a few weeks ago.
