The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) International Women's Congress will be held from July 29 to August 4 at Kumasi University of Science and Technology Kwame Nkrumah.
Prior to the conference, Ms. Heather Dawn Small, SDA Women's Ministries World Head, arrived in Ghana to attend the conference which will bring together women from 22 countries, more than 4,000.
The conference on the theme "Saved for service" would be addressed to the First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
The conference takes place once every five years to address various issues related to education, vocational training, community empowerment and to inspire women to be role models.
Dr. Stella Agyenim-Boateng, Director of Women's Ministries at the SDA Churches Conference in Southern Ghana informing the media in Accra, said the meeting would serve as a forum for discussing issues related to education, skills training, community empowerment and inspiring women role models in their respective homes, careers and countries.
She said the group would fast and pray for the development and prosperity of countries, particularly Ghana, to thwart the efforts of the nation's destroyers following the recent attacks on Christians in the sub-region.
Dr. Agyenim-Boateng, inspired by the inspiration, said that the opening ceremony of the conference would be used to publish the first book of devotion for all writers of West Africa. , whose proceeds would be used to finance the education of young girls.
Other conference activities include intensive human development workshops, bad cancer screening, community service activities such as donations to orphanages, clean-up exercises in some hospitals and markets.
Ms. Dawn Small said that the SDA church had developed a project called "Enditnow" that fought against all forms of abuse against humanity through various activities.
