A former candidate for an American television show devoted to weight loss has died at the age of 29, confirmed US sources of information on entertainment.
Mr. Sean Milliken, who played in 600 lb. of Life, died Feb. 17 after experiencing breathing problems.
TMZ reported that Mr. Milliken had died of an infection, citing his father, Matt.
"On Sunday, he had breathing problems, they were able to revive him and soon after, his heart stopped," said Matt Milliken.
The late Mr. Sean Milliken weighed up to 408 kg (900 pounds) and only participated in the show for one episode in 2016, People's magazine said.
Several sources, including The Daily Mirror and The Daily Mail tabloids, said that Milliken said in that episode that he knew he would not be able to exceed his thirtieth birthday.
He lost more than 400 kilos during his career, said TLC, the television channel that broadcasts My Life.
TLC said Tuesday in a statement that he was "saddened" to share the pbading of Mr. Milliken.
"Despite the loss of his mother (in the summer of 2018), he was still pursuing his quest for a healthier and happier life," he added.
He was already weighing 400 pounds in high school when he became bedridden after suffering a crippling leg injury, People said.
In the 2016 episode, Mr. Milliken said that he had turned to food from an early age to cope with his tumultuous relationship with his father, USA Today reported.
"It was scary, so I would eat, and suddenly I felt much better … at that time, nothing else mattered," he said.
People Magazine also said that his death marks the third death that occurred in the last six months of my life, my 100 kg life.
James "L.B." Bonner, 30, died from a self-inflicted gunshot injury last August and Lisa Fleming died later in the same month at the age of 50, the statement said.
