Sean Slater revealed his darkest secret to his mother Jean while she was falling seriously ill in this evening's episode EastEnders (May 2nd).
Leaving for a trip away from Walford, Jean tried to convince Sean to open to her, but he bristled at the mention of his father Brian.
After being arrested in an abandoned farm, Jean became increasingly concerned about Sean's casual attitude.
However, Sean began to open her mother after the fall of a big tuft of her hair, prompting her to ask Sean to shave her head in emotional scenes.

Inspired by his courage, Sean later tried to reveal to his mother his darkest secret, but Jean ended up getting seriously hurt by cutting his leg.
As Jean lost his strength and Sean realized that this could be his last chance, he finally revealed his secret: he killed his father when he was a teenager and that's why he was fled.
Sean did not really intend to kill his father, but he hit him during a fight and Brian eventually suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died the next day. Sean escaped and joined the army while he was only 16 years old.
