National Democratic Congress MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, representative of the north of the Tongu constituency, said Ghanaian security agencies were not at the top of their duties and urged them to work hard to maintain the peace in the country.

According to Ablakwa, security agencies and the government need to wake up and take seriously the security concerns raised by other countries and their advice to their nationals in Ghana.

Speaking at the Ekosii Sen broadcast of Asempa FM, Mr Ablakwa said the collective efforts of security agencies and Ghanaians would be needed to deal with insecurity-related news. and fear in Ghana.

"If we have to let the realities on the ground express themselves, I am not convinced that the security agencies are at the top of their job and, even looking at the statements of the head of the Criminal Investigation Department, COP Maame Tiwaa they can not convince we are aware of the problems, "he said.

Mr. Ablakwa's comments follow up on recent abduction issues in Ghana, which he described as an issue not to be treated in a partisan way.

He added, "If you continue to be partisan on this issue, some may decide to withdraw to find lasting solutions to the problem that will affect each one of us," he said.
