Irbard Security Consult has set up a counseling center for the victims of Menzgold, calling on Ghanaians to stop the game of derision and blame, while offering support to the victims.

"Making fun of them or blaming politicians will do little to alleviate their suffering, a word of sympathy on our part for all those who have suffered losses would greatly help to soothe their hearts."

Mr Irbard Ibrahim, managing director of Security Consult, based in Abelenkpe-Accra, said this at a press conference held on Monday.

While state security and regulatory institutions continue to investigate the case, Ghanaians could not do more harm to their colleagues: families, relatives and loved ones were to provide emotional and psychological support, instead of accusing them of being clever or greedy, he added.

Mr. Ibrahim called on the victims not to take revenge, because the heaviest sentence would be a long-term sentence that would not bring them back their money.

The CEO urged them to disclose their fate to their loved ones if they had not already done so because they did not have any emotional support beyond their loved ones.

He urged offenders to be remorseful, apologize to victims and turn into security agencies.

Mr. Ibrahim urged parents and guardians to question their protectors about the source of their wealth as part of the cultural value of the reward obtained through hard work.

The CEO urged the government to strengthen the laws on fraud and cybercrime by preventing and anticipating these activities, in order to protect the lives and property of citizens and severely punish offenders.

He also called on the government to set up a committee composed of religious and traditional leaders, psychologists, civil society organizations, the NCCE and the National Peace Council, to contribute to the healing process.

Mr. Ibrahim said that Security Consult's gesture was to help fill the void to help provide free psychological support to the victims and urged all victims to take advantage of the opportunity, adding that suicide was not an option.

The CEO said that the counseling unit would offer services on the preliminary information session, a clinical psychologist to help them overcome the trauma and early signs of depression, as well as a financial badyst to help them get back to normal.
