Senegal has qualified for the semifinals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Wednesday.
Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye scored Senegal's winning goal against Benin in the 70th minute of the match in Cairo, Egypt.
Beninese defender Olivier Verdon was sent off late in the match to leave 10 men on the team.
Senegal will play Sunday against Madagascar or Tunisia in the semifinals of the CAN.
