The Beauty Sephora chain closes its 400 stores in the United States for an hour of diversity training, a month after the singer claimed to have been a victim of a racial profile.
The RnB star, SZA, said she was targeted while she was shopping at a California branch.
The company told Reuters that it was aware of the incident, but that the training was "not a response to a particular event".
The BBC has been meeting with Asad Dhunna of The Unmistakables, who advises businesses on how to be more racially inclusive.
