If you are a registered elector and your name is on the Voter Register of your voting unit, you are qualified to vote. Below you will find the seven steps to successfully vote and make your vote count.
Each polling day, polling stations will open for accreditation and voting from 8 am to 2 pm However, voters waiting in queue before the close of the polls at 2 pm will be accredited and allowed to vote.
Voting procedure
Step 1: At the voting unit, join the queue. An INEC official will check if you are at the correct polling station and confirm that the submitted PVC belongs to you.
Step 2: An INEC manager will confirm if your PVC is genuine using the card reader. You will be prompted to place your finger on the card reader.
Step 3: An INEC official will ask you for your SSC and confirm that you are registered in the register of electors. Your name will be checked and your finger will be inked to confirm that you have voted. If your name is not found, you can not vote.

Step 4: The session chair will stamp, sign and support your ballot. You will receive the ballot paper with the printed side facing inwards and directed to the polling station.
Step 5: Color your finger with the indicated ink and check the box corresponding to your favorite candidate / party. Roll the ballot in the way you were given and flatten it. You can use any of your fingers but make sure that the ink exceeds the limit and thus voids your vote.
Step 6: Leave the polling station and drop the ballot in the ballot box, in view of the members of the voting unit.
Step 7: Leave the voting unit or wait, if you wish, in a peaceful and orderly way, to follow the process until the declaration of the result.
N / B: The result of each voting unit must be glued to the unit so that everyone can see it.

Every election day, you have the right to:
Access the polling station
Receive information about the voting procedures of the returning officers
Vote in secret.
Responsibility of the elector
Comply with all legal instructions from the INEC and election security officials.
Leave the voting unit or wait if you wish in an orderly and peaceful manner.
Encourage other voters to do the same.
