Seventh National Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility and Partnerships

Accra, July 13, GNA – The 7th Conference
for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was organized with a call for companies to
make CSR activities a central part of their operation, but not an isolated element.

According to various stakeholders, CSR
must be integrated into the very fabric of each organization.

CSR should be integrated into the overall business strategy, with a goal
a clear vision, objectives, indicators and a strong sponsorship of leaders.

The event of the day focused on the exploitation of local resources
stakeholder partnership for projects and causes related to CSR and sustainability.

actors in the spectrum of CSR, including universities, business badociations,
private sector, regulatory agencies, civil society and the media. the

She stated that critical internal stakeholders such as
management and employees must be made to understand the position of the
companies in the areas of responsibility and sustainability.

Dr. Numoo said that businesses could reap a lot
benefits, including a positive brand, increased sales and a good business reputation
to engage in a hard-hitting CRS.

"When a company has a good reputation, it
improves sales, attracts talent and the best human resources to work towards the
growth of the company, "she said.

Mr. Kojo Williams, Co-Founder and Leader
Project Manager of the West Africa CSR Center stated that there was a
reduced level of support to non-governmental organizations and that
it was necessary to look inward and exploit the local power of the partnership.

"Some actors in the local private sector
meet their expectations by designing and implementing projects that
for the benefit of society, other actors in the CSR spectrum could draw on these
existing projects and value humanity and society as a whole ",
he said.

Mr. Solomon TesfaMariam, Country Director
from Plan International Ghana stated that the firm had launched development projects
to improve the lives of people, especially children and girls,

The president of the Ghana Industries Association urged the government to
financial incentives for organizations to enable them to support
communities.

He called for the need to educate the basics
schools on CSR to enlighten students about the need to give back to societies
when they find themselves in the world of corporate work.
