Apple has significantly stepped up its health efforts, but a new report from CNBC explains how the company recently lost several members of its health team. According to the report, health insurer Anthem is responsible for poaching these employees because it seeks to improve its usability.

The report explains that Anthem has hired half a dozen current or former Apple employees in recent months. Among the hired employees, there are former Apple employees, as well as new employees at Apple Health and many more:
In recent months, Anthem has hired Apple Health, Warris Bokhari, as well as Toni Trujillo Vian (a 24-year-old Apple veteran) and senior researcher in machine learning Stefanos Giampanis, according to LinkedIn and two people close to the case.
The health insurer also used Ted Goldstein, former vice president of Apple from 2002 to 2007, to lead his AI and health data efforts about six months ago, as well as UX in the digital team.
In addition to hiring at Apple, Anthem also hired Udi Manber, a former Google executive who currently serves as technical advisor at Anthem.
Anthem's hiring efforts come as the insurer seeks to modernize its offerings to consumers and make them easier to use. The company has been slow to make its products more user-friendly, but is currently stepping up its efforts against new competition from companies like Apple.
Apple itself has made several notable recruitments in the health sector, including doctors. The society now has more than 50 doctors. Earlier this year, Apple announced a partnership with the US Department of Veterans Affairs to integrate veterans' digital health records with the Health app on the iPhone. Apple CEO Tim Cook also predicted that Apple's greatest contribution to humanity would be health-related.
