Several Ragú sauces recalled for possible contamination of plastic fragments

Mizkan America Inc. recalls several jars of its pasta sauce Ragú, fearing that they contain only plastic fragments.

In an announcement made on Saturday, the company said the voluntary action had been taken "by cautious" and that she was working with grocery stores to have the items removed from the shelves. Until now, no complaint or consumer injury has been reported.

Here is a list of the recalled products:

  • Garlic & Onion Chunky Tomato, 45 ounces (Best by: June 6, 2020)

  • Garlic & Onion Chunky Tomato, 66 oz. (Best by: June 5, 2020)

  • Garlic & Onion Chunky Tomato, 66 oz. (Best by: June 6, 2020)

  • Traditional Old Style, 66 ounces (For June 4, 2020 at best)

  • Old Meat, 66 ounces (By June 5, 2020 at the earliest)

All customers involved in the recall have been alerted, said Mizkan America. He also asks buyers to check their larders and refrigerators to make sure they have thrown away the sauces above.

"These sauces were produced from June 4 to 8, and Mizkan America estimates that the majority of this production is under its control," the company said. "However, some cases of the sauces listed above have been shipped to customers recently and these cases / products are subject to this voluntary recall."
