Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan will miss the second and final test against the West Indies with a thigh injury, team management announced on Monday.
Shakib was injured in the first test loss at Chittagong which ended on Sunday.
He was unable to beat and bowling in the second inning.
His absence was felt overwhelmingly when Bangladesh could not defend a lead of 394 points.
Kyle Mayers hit an unbeaten 210 as the weakened West Indies won the game by three wickets.
“Shakib has been continuously assessed and monitored since he suffered strain in his left thigh on the second day of the match,” the Bangladesh Cricket Board said in a statement.
No replacement has been named for the second test which begins in Dhaka on Friday.
