Showtime did not finish with Shameless – and ni is Cameron Monaghan!
The network has renewed the dysfunctional family comedy for season 10, the Television Critics Association winter press tour announced on Thursday. In addition, Cameron Monaghan, who left earlier this season when his character, Ian, went to jail and found Mickey behind bars, will be back for the race to come.
Regular actors in the series will also include William H. Macy (Frank), Jeremy Allen White (Lip), Ethan Cutkosky (Carl), Emma Kenney (Debbie) and Christian Isaiah (Liam). As previously announced, star Emmy Rossum (aka Fiona Gallagher) will leave the series at the end of this ninth season. (Check out here the semi-happy ending of Fiona.)
"We all Shameless We are delighted that we have the opportunity to tell other wonderful Gallagher stories – and we thank Showtime for its continued support, "Executive Producer John Wells said in a statement. "We are looking forward to returning to work with this extraordinary cast."
The TVLine cable renewal dashboard has been updated with pickup (which makes Shameless the longest running series on Showtime!).
Shameless Season 9 is currently airing Sunday at 9 / 8c.
