Interim boss James Shan is expected to be in charge of West Brom again when the Baggies host Preston North End in the championship on Saturday.
Shan's future with the club has been on the brink since he took over after Darren Moore was sacked last month and West Brom's 3-2 loss to rivals Bristol City was still no longer doubt his temporary position.
However, Matt Wilson, an Express and Star reporter, thinks Shan will still be responsible for the Baggies this weekend for Preston's trip to the Hawthorns.

Shan saw his team beat for a second consecutive loss in the league on Tuesday night, after losing 2-0 last weekend to the threat of relegation that threatened Millwall.
However, the Baggies are still nine points clear of Middlesbrough, which holds a place below the playoff spots, five days from the end of the game.
West Brom under Shan
West Brom 3-0 Swansea
Shan made a perfect start as an interim manager with a comfortable 3-0 win over Swansea in his first match.
Brentford 0-1 West Brom
The Baggies made two wins in two under Shan with a 1-0 win at Brentford.
West Brom 3-2 Birmingham
Shan had three consecutive wins as interim manager while his team beat Birmingham twice 3-2.
Millwall 2-0 West Brom
Shan's first defeat was won by Millwall last weekend as Ahmed Hegazi scored a goal against his side and received a red card in the 2-0 defeat.
Bristol City 3-2 West Brom
Shan's second loss comes just three days after the first, with a 3-2 loss to Bristol City.
